Gratuitous Pictures of my Maine Coon
I know what you are really here for. You want to see Liberty Bell, don't you?
Liberty Bell is my eight-year-old (I think?) maine coon. We adopted her via VOKRA as a kitten and quickly realized we bit off WAY more than we could chew with this one. My friend (and dear Auntie to LB) AR wryly commented to me one time "Well, you did name her Liberty."
Some facts about LB:
- She is a big talker and very vocal, it's honestly a bit much
- She has severe FOMO
- She really does like water...she will often jump into the tub after one of us showers to splash around, and sometimes she will drink water via dipping one of her massive paws in her water dish, then licking her paw
- Def a Mama's girl, much to my chagrin
- Is tragically clumsy. Like, she will go to jump on the couch and miss it 2 times out of 10, its so sad. She'll slip and fall off like a Disney death scene.
- Likes all doors to be open in our house so she has maximum vantage point on everything
- Very emotionally needy, I had hoped to raise a more emotionally resilient daughter but I have failed miserably
- As a hunter, she's very so-so. She alerts us to spiders and mice (ugh) as she sees fit, and like most cats, is a master torturer
- She is fond of sitting on just one leg specifically. This is very unfortunate as she is enormous and clumsy, so its a bit of an ordeal for her to balance on just one leg rather than sit in your lap like a normal cat
- Yes, hairballs are a HUGE problem in this household, its super gross
- Is wholly unperturbed by the dehumidifier, which is loud and running most of the time in our place. We fear its slowly desiccating her brain.
We don't post much of her on social media, and feel that, as parents, this shows a lot of restraint cuz she's quite pretty (we often tell her it's a good think she's a looker 'cause she's not very smart).
The real truth is that we spend so much time trying to console her wild emotionality that by the time that is done, we are too exhausted to try and post pictures of her.
In discussion with her papa, we feel she is mostly an E minor per the chart below, with frequent tendencies towards E major.
LB is also a total deviant in that we KNOW for a FACT that she behaves very differently with cat sitters than she does with us (thank you, AR and LO for your tolerance), i.e., she is much more well behaved and sweet.
If you know her and love her, thank you for your patience and admiration, we know she's a wreck.
